2018

Happy New Year, everyone!

2017 has passed in the blink of an eye and yet there were some very long stretches of crazy periods that felt like they would never end. From a difficult pregnancy in the early half, to managing three tots three and under and the barrage of illnesses that hit us once I put the older two in a Montessori in August. The one good thing that came out of this year was the arrival of our third sweet baby girl in April. And believe me, she has made all the hardships of this year worthwhile. She’s absolutely precious and completes our girl squad and family perfectly. But, it definitely has been a challenging year and I’ve struggled to keep my head together as I’ve battled the various physical and mental struggles that come with having a newborn, the postpartum recovery process and two toddlers who need so much love and reassurance with the arrival of their newest sibling. But it’s all in the past now.

I’m so so so excited for 2018. For starters, I’m finally going to get serious about my writing and using it as a forum to connect with other mommies! The girls are all finally at a place where they are emotionally secure, we are falling into a routine, and I’m finally starting to see the crack of light at the end of the tunnel! I’m also kicking off the new year with an international trip — I’m taking my three littles to Pakistan! My maternal grandmother, whom I love and miss dearly and also happens to be my only living grandparent, is there along with many other extended family members. It’s been five years since I’ve been to visit (basically since having kids) and I’m thrilled to be taking the girls to a place I spent my childhood summers in and loved! As a direct result of those long summer vacations there, I’m also very very close to my cousins there and I’m so excited for all of them to meet the girls for the first time. Karachi also has a really great food scene and don’t even get me started on the shopping!!! I’ll be documenting the whole experience on the blog, so be sure to check it out! Also stay tuned for a guide on how to pack for a trip to Asia with three babies!

Once I’m back, I have lots of other goals for 2018, but I’m not committing to anything at the moment. I want to take it day by day and not pressure myself to accomplish things if they will be too stressful to manage.

I wish everyone a prosperous, blessed and happy new year. May your dreams for the year ahead come to light in the most beautiful way.
